You can't go wrong with a storytime about dinosaurs! (Well, I guess it would be bad if you did a faithful Jurassic Park puppet show with scary raptors. Not to mention using books featuring cavemen alive at the same time as dinosaurs. OK, maybe it could go wrong. Stick with this rhyme.)
This is a slight rework of the Five Enormous Dinosaurs rhyme from KCLS's Tell Me a Story database. In addition to the general high quality of all their rhymes, I love that KCLS includes videos of a variety of people performing them. Even some guys! Crazy.
Five enormous dinosaurs letting out a roar,
One stomped away and then there were four.
Stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp,
One stomped away and then there were four.
Stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp,
stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp, ROAR!
Four enormous dinosaurs munching on a tree,
One stomped away and then there were three.
Stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp,
One stomped away and then there were three.
Stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp,
stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp, ROAR!
Three enormous dinosaurs didn’t know what to do,
One stomped away and then there were two.
Stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp,
One stomped away and then there were two.
Stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp,
stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp, ROAR!
Two enormous dinosaurs having lots of fun,
One stomped away and then there was one.
Stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp,
One stomped away and then there was one.
Stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp,
stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp, ROAR!
One enormous dinosaur saw the setting sun,
She went home and then there were none.
Flap, flap, flap, flap,
She went home and then there were none.
Flap, flap, flap, flap,
flap, flap, flap, flap, ROAR!
Here are some closer shots of the others.
I think they turned out well!

Thanks to Anne from the So Tomorrow blog for hosting this week's Flannel Friday!
I love this! I just did a dinosaur storytime today. Now I know just the flannel story to go with it for next time. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLove these! I'm excited to use the rhyme and flannel dinosaurs in storytime next week. Thanks.
