Letter F Storytime

F is for Flowers!
I used the flowers from Lois Ehlert’s Planting a Rainbow and we pretended to grow a flower garden

F is for Fox
We walk on our tiptoes, tilt our heads, sniff, make "yip" sounds and POUNCE!

F is for Fire

Fire is hot and dangerous. Tell an adult if there is fire, so they can call the firefighters. Also it is appropriate as a compliment, as in, "Mr. Keith is fire!"

F is for Flamingo
We flap our wings, stand on one leg and use our hand like a flamingo beak to eat some pretend plants.

F is for Fish

We swim our hands back and forth, identifying the fish colors.

The first one is BLUE!

RED!

YELLOW!

GREEN!

PURPLE!

ORANGE!

Then we count them (there's 6) and we listened to Caspar Babypants' All the Fish.

F is for Frog

We hold up three fingers and bounce them on our arm logs. Rub tummy on "yum yum." Have finger frog pretend to jump off log. Replace proper amount of frogs at the end.

Three green and speckled frogs,

Sat on a speckled log,

Eating the most delicious bugs. Yum! Yum!

One jumped into a pool,

Where it was nice and cool.

Then there were two green speckled frogs. Glub, glub.

Two green and speckled frogs,

Sat on a speckled log,

Eating the most delicious bugs. Yum! Yum!

One jumped into a pool,

Where it was nice and cool.

Then there was one green speckled frogs. Glub, glub.

One green and speckled frog,

Sat on a speckled log,

Eating the most delicious bugs. Yum! Yum!

It jumped into a pool,

Where it was nice and cool.

Then there were no green speckled frogs. Glub, glub.
