Zoom, Zoom, Zoom

Spaceships are awesome! I added a couple extra lines and actions to the traditional Zoom Zoom Zoom.

Zoom, zoom, zoom!
(Clap hands in up and down motion)
We’re going to the moon!
Zoom, zoom, zoom!
We’ll be there very soon!
If you want to take a trip,
(pretend to climb ladder or walk fingers up arm/rocket)
Climb aboard my rocket ship!
Zoom, zoom, zoom!
(start clapping again)
We’re going to the moon!
Rockets, put on your nosecones. –BONUS LINES!!!
(put hands together above your head)
Get down on the launch pad.
(slowly squat while making sound effects)
5,4,3,2,1…
BLAST OFF! (jump up into the air)

When the rocket takes off, it will sometimes visit other planets after the moon.
I make sure to let them know the planets are not to scale.

Also, it is important to planet shame poor little pitiful Pluto. Thanks Neil deGrasse Tyson!

Next, one of the felt critters starts complaining that they want to go to the moon as well. I bring out a big cardboard version of the felt rocket and the kids help launch the flannelboard piece…into SPACE!!!

Thanks to Wendy at Flannel Board Fun for hosting!

  1. I love this flannelboard, it is so cute! I love the 8-bit look to the rocket ship, and all those adorable planets. Well done!
